Planning, Research and Operations Department

Overview 

The Planning, Research & Operations Department is responsible for the development and implementation of water resources planning, research, policies, projects & operations. In a bid to aid sustainable water resources management, the department ensures the facilitation, coordination, and support the planning, development & implementation of projects, research, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems.

Key Tasks:

  • Regularizing raw water user’s status through the issuance of borehole drilling licences and water use permits
  • Water resources planning and allocation for efficient water resources management
  • Development, implementation, and management of water resources related projects, research, and policies
  • Development of SOPs and M&E systems for efficient water resources management
  • Development & implementation of water catchment and river basins management systems for sustainable water resources management
  • Ensures effective technical operations for sustainable water resources management
